From Capital to Crops: Bridging Finance and Food Systems Transformation

Thursday, July 9, 2026 – Thursday, July 9, 2026
16:00 – 17:00
This webinar will explore how finance and investment can support the transition to more sustainable and resilient food systems, with a particular focus on how capital flows translate into real-world impact across agricultural value chains. As interest in food and agriculture continues to grow across the sustainable finance community, the session will bring together perspectives from across the ecosystem to bridge understanding between financial actors and on-the-ground implementation.

Moderated by Zac Bleicher, Global Coordinator of the Agrifood Systems Accelerator, the session will bring together a diverse panel spanning investment, advisory, and implementation perspectives. Saswati Bora, from The Nature Conservancy, will contribute a conservation and value chain perspective on scaling nature-based approaches in agriculture, translating science into investable programmes and partnerships with corporates and financial institutions. Fred Werneck, Director and Co-Founder of Clarmondial AG, an impact investment advisory firm, will share insights on structuring investment-ready opportunities and connecting financial markets with actors on the ground. John Mundy, Partnerships, Finance and Technology lead at One Acre Fund, an international non-profit organisation working directly with smallholder farmers, will offer a practical view on what it takes to deliver sustainable agricultural transitions, including access to finance, inputs, and markets. Marc Palahi, Chief Nature Officer at Lombard Odier, will outline why food systems transformation is urgent and what a shift towards nature-positive and regenerative models looks like in practice.
