Emerging Markets Impact Investing Innovative Finance Systemic Change

iGravity and the Impact-Linked Finance Collaborative will host an interactive workshop on how results-based finance (RBF) can strengthen entrepreneurial ecosystems in emerging markets. Bringing together donors, investors, intermediaries and SMEs, the session will explore practical applications of RBF, including impact-linked finance, highlighting lessons learned, good practices and key success factors for scaling impact.

Framing this topic

This short section provides context for the event to ensure all participants, regardless of prior knowledge, are equipped to engage with the discussion.

SMEs drive up to 50% of global employment yet face a $2.6 trillion financing gap—especially in Sub-Saharan Africa, where over 60% lack access to credit. This limits their ability to scale local solutions to development challenges. Many remain grant-dependent, while ecosystem actors struggle for sustainability. As ODA is a relic from the past, funding must deliver more impact and mobilise private capital. Results-based finance (RBF) links funding to measurable outcomes. This session will explore practical RBF applications and bring together donors, investors, intermediaries and SMEs to co-create solutions.
