Director, Head of Acumen’s Hardest-to-Reach-Catalyze - Acumen

Sandra Halilovic leads Acumen’s Hardest-to-Reach Catalyze initiative, deploying investment capital and technical assistance to expand clean energy access in underserved African markets. Her work focuses on structuring investments that respond to the realities of frontier markets, strengthen businesses, and mobilise additional investment.

Previously, Sandra was an Investment Principal at Ceniarth, an impact investment family office, where she invested in funds and directs and led the investment team. Her experience also spans investment banking, Social Finance UK, IFC and UNDP. She brings both a capital allocator’s and a direct investor’s perspective to financing in least developed countries and fragile markets, combining a focus on impact with rigorous underwriting and tailored investment structures.

Sandra holds a Master of International Affairs with a concentration in International Finance from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a bachelor’s degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce. She was a founding contributor to CFA UK’s Impact Investing Panel and holds the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing.
