Building Sustainable and Scalable Investments in Education and Skills Development
This high-level dialogue invites leaders from business, finance, philanthropy, and the public sector to discuss innovative finance solutions that drive systemic investments and impact for education and skills development. The discussion will draw on a philanthropy guarantee partnership between JF, IFFEd, SDC, GPE and Foundation for GPE to unlock financing and explore new approaches of how public-private-philanthropic partnerships achieve evidence-based, systemic impact and financing at scale.
Framing
This short section provides context for the event to ensure all participants, regardless of prior knowledge, are equipped to engage with the discussion.
Transforming education and skills development systems, requires moving beyond a project logic to mobilising new types of partnerships that combine diverse resources – financial, in-kind, intellectual. At the same time, the current context of reduced resources requires innovative approaches that enhance collaboration, synergies and pool expertise to reduce fragmentation. Around 2.4 trn of philanthropic capital sits on institutional balance sheets and remains under-utilised for catalytic financing. The event aims to create a collaborative space (e.g. fishbowl format) to highlight and shape innovative, scalable solutions for education, leveraging education’s role as a cross-SDG accelerator.
