Venture Director - Cardano Development

Niels Vermeijden is Venture Director at Cardano Development in Amsterdam, where he develops guarantee, fund and treasury vehicles that scale local-currency finance in frontier and emerging markets. He started his career in 2008 at Cardano Risk Management in Rotterdam, advising pension funds and insurers on interest rate, inflation and derivative overlay strategies, and went on to manage Liability Driven Investment portfolios for UK pension schemes at Cardano’s London office. He then spent a decade at TCX, The Currency Exchange Fund, as Head of Business Development and Senior Vice President Trading, managing a multi-billion dollar book across more than sixty frontier currencies and designing hedging solutions for development finance institutions. He has lectured on financial derivatives and development finance at the Royal Dutch Actuarial Association since 2011.
