Joyce’s journey began 11 years ago when she embarked on a “hands-on” mission to transform the economic prospects of those who tirelessly toil on Africa’s degraded soils. Armed with a Master’s Degree in Procurement and Logistics from the prestigious Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, she merged her procurement expertise with her passion for environmental sustainability.

Joyce’s legacy also includes co-founding Safi Organics Limited; she is among the first women to venture into an organic fertilizer manufacturing company, a game-changing startup nestled in the heart of Kenya. This innovative company has harnessed the power of cutting-edge hardware technology and proprietary recipes, validated and tested by the esteemed Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Their mission is to decentralize fertilizer production at the village level, leveraging local labor and available residues. Through this pioneering approach, Safi Organics Limited breathes life into rural communities, creating jobs, recycling waste, and paving new avenues for income generation.
