This session is a learning opportunity about the new guidelines on impact investing in listed equities, resulting from a GIIN-led collaborative effort of a global group of banks, asset managers, and asset owners. Representatives of this global group will provide practical examples and discuss the challenges of implementation and the differences between an impact and an ESG approach.

Mirjam Garzon

Mirjam Garzon manages the network’s local activities. GIIN is the global thought leader in impact investing. Founder of Impact Capital Advisory, she offers impact consulting to asset managers, investors & intermediaries.
Ina Lee
Associate Director Market Building, Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN)
Ina Lee serves as the Market Building Manager for the GIIN’s Membership Team and curates programming on the GIIN’s Product Development Platform.
Paul Ruijs
Impact Specialist, Robeco
Paul Ruijs is Impact Specialist at Robeco. In this role, he assesses the real-world impact of portfolio companies related to the SDGs and contributes to further conceptualizing Robeco’s impact measurement approaches.
Before joining Robeco in 2021, Mr. Ruijs gained relevant experience working at an impact investing fund. He started his career at the UN Global Compact working in the areas of sustainable finance and climate action.
Paul Ruijs obtained his Master’s in Global Business and Sustainability cum laude from the Rotterdam School of Management, writing an award-winning thesis on sustainable investing.
Dominique Habegger
Senior Vice President, Chief Sustainability Officer - de Pury Pictet Turrettini
At de Pury Pictet Turrettini since 2013, Dominique conceived the Buy & Care® investment strategy and broadened it to the Firm’s main asset classes as its Chief Sustainability Officer. Dominique Habegger started his career at SAM in 1996 and has since contributed to many innovations in sustainable finance. In particular, he initiated the first ESG integration methodology at Lombard Odier in 1998 before co-founding ASSET4 in 2003, the first ESG web database. He has been a member of the Board of SFG since 2014 and member of the Board of Swiss Sustainable Finance since 2019.
Ben Constable Maxwell
Head of Impact, M&G Investments
Ben Constable Maxwell is head of Impact Investing at M&G, co-managing the M&G Positive Impact Fund and leading the firm’s broader impact strategy. Ben’s specialist areas are climate, circularity and impact measurement.
Panagiota Balfousia
Head Sustainable Business Strategy, Kieger
Panagiota Balfousia manages the firm-wide sustainable investment and CSR strategy at Kieger. She was previously fund-selector at UBS, helping develop and launch impact strategies. Before, she was senior portfolio manager at Altis (NN IP), where she worked with Nordic-based institutions to define their sustainability preferences. She has an economics background.
