How do Swiss startups accelerate the recognition of the financial and economic value of nature?
Capital is ready for nature. Nature is hard to see. Without credible, comparable evidence, a restored wetland is an anecdote versus an asset. Technology closes that gap – and Swiss startups are among its sharpest builders. Eight of them take the stage across the MRV chain: measuring what happens in nature, turning that data into decisions, and moving capital. Each answers three questions – what evidence does your technology produce, what does it cost, and who accepts it today?
Participants then work on real use cases in small groups: what works, what does not, and how is value created.

Nature is an economic dependency that markets cannot price, because the evidence is inconsistent and expensive to produce. MRV – measurement, reporting and verification – is how that evidence gets made, and it underpins frameworks such as the TNFD and CSRD/ESRS E4.
NatureTech is the toolset making MRV affordable: remote sensing, eDNA and sensors (measurement); analytics and AI (decisions); registries, ratings and marketplaces (capital). What is still missing is comparability – each buyer repeats the last one’s diligence, so costs stay high and volumes stay small.
