Join guest speakers from Kenya, the Netherlands, South Africa and Switzerland, as we dive into questions including, how can philanthropic organizations and governments be better leveraged for impact investing? What actions are needed to improve access for private and institutional investors? Through small group discussions we will identify actionable solutions to create the conditions needed to scale impact investing.

Jason Van Staden

Project Manager, Research and Training - Bertha Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Jason Van Staden is a Project Manager for research and training in the Bertha Centre's Innovative Finance initiative located at the University of Cape Town. Jason is responsible for coordinating teaching and research support for learning programmes in impact investing and innovative finance and driving research efforts in the Centre’s Green finance, Early-stage funding, and Blended finance work. He completed his BCom Honours (Information Systems) and Doctorate (Management) degrees at the University of the Witwatersrand, where he also did a postdoctoral research fellowship and lectured Management and Innovation courses. Jason has also founded two tech-based social enterprises in his private capacity.

Anne-Cathrine Frogg

Board member and Chair of Financial Committee - Swiss Philanthropy Foundation

Anne-Cathrine Frogg is the Founder of JELA Capital, a company offering financial services. She has been active in the investment industry for thirty years with twenty years as fund of funds portfolio manager at Mirabaud, Agora Capital, Commodities Corporation and Banque Franck; later as founder of a fund representation company servicing offshore funds. She sits on several financial company boards and serves on the Board of Trustees of the Swiss Philanthropy Foundation, where she also chairs the financial commission. She holds a Master’s in International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.

Guillaume Bonnel

Chief Executive Officer - SDG Impact Finance Initiative

Guillaume has dedicated his professional life to sustainable and impact investing. Prior to joining the SDG Impact Finance Initiative, he led the Sustainable and Impact Solutions team at Credit Suisse, designed and managed impact investment funds at Lombard Odier, and audited micro finance institutions for an asset manager dedicated to financial inclusion. Guillaume began his career completing missions in developing countries, before establishing and managing a range of sustainable and impact products at BNP Paribas Wealth Management. He later joined Médecins Sans Frontières for a humanitarian mission, to lead the finance and HR department, and ran different health-related projects. 

Sabine Döbeli

CEO - Swiss Sustainable Finance (SSF)

Sabine Döbeli has worked in the field of sustainable finance for over 25 years in different roles. After establishing Swiss Sustainable Finance (SSF), she took over the role as CEO of SSF in 2014. Previously, she was Head of Corporate Sustainability Management at Vontobel where she was responsible for coordinating sustainability topics at group level and for preparing sustainable investment services. At Zürcher Kantonalbank she built up the sustainability research unit within the financial analysis department and was involved in the launch of various sustainable investment products.

Arif Neky

Senior Advisor and National Coordinator - SDG Partnership Platform Kenya

Arif is the Senior Advisor for UN Strategic Partnerships at the Resident Coordinator’s Office and the National Coordinator of the SDG Partnership Platform in Kenya - co-created by the UN system and the Government of Kenya. He is also Chairman of the Task Force for the National Advisory Board (NAB) for Impact Finance in Kenya and Deputy Chairman of the East African Board of the Africa Venture Philanthropy Alliance. He is Deputy Chairman of the Finance, Trade & Investment Network and a Trustee of the Agriculture Sector Network of Kenya.

Marnix Mulder is an impact investing professional with 20+ years of experience. He is Director Market Development in Triple Jump – actively working on creating new investable impact markets. His passion is to help building and scaling a global inclusive impact investment sector.
