Danny Chatziprodromou

Founder & CEO - REOR20

Danny is the Founder and CEO of REOR20, the Zurich-based deep-tech company behind DeepWater, the world’s first physics-trained AI flood engine.

Flood simulations that used to take days on a supercomputer now run in seconds, for cents, anywhere on earth. REOR20 delivers DeepWater through its partners’ products in weather, data platforms, risk modelling, climate analytics and property. That’s how a vague “flood risk across Zurich” warning becomes “don’t park on these three streets for the next 12 hours”. REOR20 won the first Lloyd’s Europe Insurance Innovation Competition in 2023.

Before starting REOR20 in 2019, Danny spent several years as a Director at Swiss Re, working in emerging risk, data analytics and P&C innovation.

Danny did his PhD in computational fluid dynamics at ETH Zurich, followed by postdoctoral research in financial engineering at the University of Zurich. After that, he worked as a quant in the investment sector, pricing structured products and building algorithmic trading strategies.

Outside work, Danny is a wannabe guitar player, a triathlete and a lover of all things sports and nature.
