Sébastien Duquet

Director, Blended Finance - Mirova

Sébastien Duquet is Director, Head of DFIs and Blended Finance Development at Mirova in Paris, where he leads the development of Mirova’s private asset funds toward development finance institutions, sovereign entities, and foundations. He joined Mirova in 2022 following its acquisition of SunFunder, where he was part of the management team. Previously, as Chief Investment Officer and Deputy CEO of Symbiotics Group in Geneva, he oversaw a USD 2.1 billion, 21-sub-fund investment platform, chairing its Luxembourg SICAVs and structuring Sri Lanka’s first-ever green bond, among other frontier-market transactions. Earlier in his career, he led the turnaround of the microfinance group Oxus as CEO, managed an USD 820 million debt portfolio across Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Central Asia at responsAbility, and, as CEO of PlaNet Finance, oversaw more than 200 technical assistance programmes in microfinance, agriculture, and renewable energy access worldwide. With three decades of experience spanning blended finance, DFI relations, and frontier-market debt and equity structuring, he is a frequent author on blended finance, most recently publishing “Structuring a Blended Fund: Lessons from Mirova Gigaton Fund in Frontier & Emerging Markets” with Convergence, and teaches at Sciences Po Paris and EDHEC Business School.
