Michael Humber

Data Lead / Deputy Director - NASA Harvest / NASA Acres

Dr. Michael Humber is the incoming Executive Director of RAAPID. He is also the Deputy Director of the NASA Acres consortium on U.S. domestic agriculture, and Data Lead / Markets, Trade and Supply Chains Lead for the NASA Harvest consortium on global food security and agriculture. His work is at the forefront of enabling decision-making through targeted applications of satellite data, rapid data workflows, and decision support systems.

Dr. Humber’s research focuses on reducing the time from observations to data-driven decisions at the confluence of food production, food crisis monitoring, and trade by leveraging global partnership networks, artificial intelligence, and advanced data systems. His work with NASA Harvest informs governments, humanitarian organizations, financial institutions, and the private sector, empowering decisions on effective policy and investments while reducing barriers to action.
