On 21 October 2025, we co-organised an event with GreenBuzz and Sustainable Finance Geneva under the title, “Bridging Finance and Sustainability: From Geneva to Zurich”. The event was kindly hosted by Founding Partner Asset Management Association Switzerland (AMAS) and supported by our other Zurich based Founding Partners, Swiss Sustainable Finance and Swiss Bankers Association.

The event emphasised the need for a growing connection between Switzerland’s two financial centres in accelerating the transition to a more sustainable economy and provided an opportunity to reflect on the Building Bridges 2025 conference which took place just a few weeks prior. Speakers emphasised that the transition is already underway and that collaboration across cities, sectors and disciplines will be key to maintaining Switzerland’s global leadership in sustainable finance. One key message resonated throughout: sustainable finance is not a niche practice, but a necessary evolution of finance itself.

Keynote speaker, Butch Bacani, Head of Insurance at UNEP FI, discussed concrete examples of how investors and insurers are integrating sustainability into risk management and product innovation, with the story beginning with the 2004 launch of UNEP FI’s report “UNEP FI Asset Management Working Group “Materiality 1 Report”. (View Butch’s presentation here). The conversation also highlighted Zurich’s growing role as a hub for implementation — translating Geneva’s international dialogue into action on the ground.

This bi-city series with GreenBuzz and Sustainable Finance Geneva represents our ongoing efforts to connect actors across Switzerland and beyond, ensuring that capital flows where it matters most — to projects and businesses that deliver financial returns alongside positive social and environmental outcomes.

The next event will take place in Geneva on 1 Dec, 2025. Registration is required (here) but subject to approval.
