On 6 May 2026, during Climate Week Zurich, Building Bridges, alongside Founding Partners: the Asset Management Association of Switzerland (AMAS), Swiss Bankers Association (SBA) and Swiss Sustainable Finance (SSF), convened an open event focused on how sustainable and climate finance can move from foundations to practical innovation. Hosted at Careum, the event brought together finance, academia and sustainability practitioners for an in‑depth exchange.

The event, warmly opened by Adrian Schatzmann of AMAS, began with an academic keynote by Prof. Zacharias Sautner (University of Zurich), who set the scene by revisiting the fundamentals of sustainable and climate finance. The discussion then brought together perspectives from asset management, impact investing and stewardship, with contributions from Ruben Feldman (Swisscanto), Remo Oswald (Enabling Qapital) and Matthias Narr (Ethos), moderated by Erol Bilecen of the SBA. Speakers reflected on how financial actors can strengthen credibility, engagement and real economy relevance.

The second session turned to innovation and its potential to enhance impact across sectors. In an academic keynote, Prof. Markus Leippold (University of Zurich) highlighted the role of data, measurement and verification. Practical examples followed, illustrating how artificial intelligence and technology are being applied to investment decision making and risk assessment, including insights from Sandy Wolff (Pictet) and Kyra Gibhardt (MSCI). The session was moderated by Romain Leroy-Castillo of SSF.

The event concluded with closing reflections from Karen Hitschke of Building Bridges, reinforcing the importance of collaboration, transparency and innovation in aligning finance with sustainability goals.
