Climate Transition Sector Lead & Nature Specialist - UN Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI)

Vanesa leads climate transition work at UNEP FI, convening global financial institutions, especially banks, to advance best practices in climate and nature finance. With a background in environmental engineering, science and finance, she translates complex sustainability challenges into actionable strategies for financial institutions and drives engagement with industry and policymakers.

Her experience includes advising governmental institutions at GIZ on green and circular economy solutions, teaching and consulting at Frankfurt School of Finance & Management and supporting UNDP BIOFIN in Namibia. She co-authored the IPBES Business and Biodiversity Assessment and previously led impact investing R&D in New York, developing science-based methodologies for portfolio impact assessment for a major Dutch pension fund, in collaboration with UBS Asset Management.
