Kay Tuschen

Head of Climate Resilience Solutions - CELSIUSPRO

Kay Tuschen is a development economist with an MSc from Göttingen University. In his academic work, he focused on financial behaviour, microfinance, and rigorous impact evaluations. In that course, he gained household data collection experience in a field research project in Bihar, India.
During his time at the InsuResilience and Global Shield Secretariat (hosted by GIZ), he was responsible for the InsuResilience Global Partnership’s MEL System. He developed a multidimensional impact framework for 25 implementation programs on climate and disaster risk finance and insurance (CDRFI). This work included annual data collection, analysis and reporting to donors, CSOs and other members of the multi-stakeholder partnership. He also facilitated the development of a research strategy to systematically foster rigorous impact evaluations for CDRFI. Based on insights gained in this work, he provided analytical support to the design of the Global Shield against Climate Risks, inter alia for an impact-oriented country prioritization mechanism.
Kay joined CelsiusPro Group in 2023 and applies his analytical and policy advisory experience as the Head of Climate Resilience Solutions. His work translates the company’s capabilities in parametric structuring, technology and underwriting into resilience projects in the Global South.
