Jorge Rubio is the Global Head of Citi Social Finance, based in London, where he leads efforts to expand financial inclusion, basic service access, job creation, and social infrastructure in underserved communities worldwide. Since 2005, he has shaped Citi’s business model to connect global investors with local needs across 50+ emerging markets. Citi Social Finance has mobilized over $8 billion, supporting services for over 7 million households and small businesses, with a focus on empowering women. Jorge has pioneered impactful initiatives, including Citi’s Social Finance Framework for Emerging Markets and a $1 billion Social Bond. Recognized in 2023 as a top influencer in sustainable finance by Financial News, he holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and IESE in Barcelona and was a 2009 Associate at Harvard’s David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, contributing to impact investment and inclusive financial models.
