Christina Kitsos
Mayor - City of Geneva
Born on February 5, 1981, in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Christina Kitsos holds both Swiss and Greek nationalities and is mother of two children.
Her political involvement began at the age of 13, when she joined the Youth Parliament in her hometown, driven by her commitment to equality, social and climate justice, and the vision of an open, inclusive society grounded in solidarity. These values inspired her to join the Socialist Party. Over the years, Ms. Kitsos has held various public roles, including Parliamentary Assistant in Bern (2007–2008), Member of the Parliament of Neuchâtel (2005–2008), and Member of the Municipal Council of the City of Geneva (2015–2020).
In June 2020, Ms. Kitsos was elected to the Executive Council of the City of Geneva, where she assumes responsibility for the Department of Social Cohesion and Solidarity. Her dedication to public service culminated in her election as Mayor of the City of Geneva on June 1, 2024.
Ms. Kitsos holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from HEC Geneva and a Master’s Degree in Literature and Humanities from the University of Neuchâtel and Sorbonne-Paris IV.
