Bronwyn Claire

APAC Lead, Climate Scenarios & Sustainability - Ortec Finance

As Senior Climate Specialist within the Climate Scenarios & Sustainability team, Bronwyn leads research and innovation in climate scenario analysis, with a focus on communicating the policy, macroeconomic, and financial implications of climate change. She oversees updates to Ortec Finance’s NGFS-based climate scenarios within the ClimateMAPS solution, ensuring alignment with evolving NGFS scenarios.
Bronwyn heads Ortec Finance’s involvement in the BiROFin partnership led by Wageningen Economic Research and the Foundation for Sustainable Development, applying her expertise to translate scientific insights into economic and financial impacts and background in conservation and agriculture.
Prior to joining Ortec Finance, Bronwyn led ClimateWise at the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, bringing together over 40 insurance firms to advance practical climate risk management. She has also held academic and government research roles, and spent seven years at KPMG in Hong Kong and Australia leading internal audit and enterprise risk projects for financial institutions.
Bronwyn holds a BSc (Agriculture), BCom, and a PhD in agricultural and resource economics from the University of Western Australia, and is a Fellow of the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. Her PhD was entitled “Uncertainty, monitoring, and the design of conservation contracts for farmland in Western Australia”.
