Bernard de Longevialle is an accomplished financial services executive and recognized sustainable finance leader, bringing over 32 years of international experience as a credit rating expert and bank regulator.
Currently heading S&P Global’s Regulated Portfolio Solutions and the Climate Finance Gap in Lower Income Countries Task Force, Bernard is at the forefront of unlocking private capital for emerging markets. He spearheads global engagements with public and private stakeholders to eliminate roadblocks to capital mobilization, adapting rating processes for blended finance and shaping methodologies for investments in emerging and developing economies (EMDEs).
As S&P Global Ratings’ Global Head of Sustainable Finance (2019–2026), Bernard built the firm’s practice from the ground up, growing a team of 50+ experts across 15 offices. Under his leadership, the agency fundamentally integrated ESG risks into its credit rating approach and launched products that positioned S&P Global as the #1 provider of second-party opinions globally.
Previously, Bernard held senior roles including Head of Financial Services, Sovereign & Public Finance Ratings for EMEA, the US, and Canada. Managing 180+ professionals, he helped develop the firm’s proprietary risk-adjusted capital framework (RACF). He began his career as a bank regulator at Banque de France.
