Ambassador Felix Wertli
Ambassador of the Environment - Head of International Affairs Division - Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN)
Felix Wertli, born 1977, is Switzerland’s Ambassador for the Environment and Head of the International Affairs Division at the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN).
After completing his studies in geography and an advanced studies programme in development cooperation, Felix Wertli began his career in Burkina Faso, Kenya and Haiti as a programme officer for Fastenaktion, an international social justice organisation.
From 2012 he was a councillor at the Swiss Permanent Mission to the WTO and EFTA in Geneva, where he worked on trade and development issues. In 2016, he took over as head of the Global Affairs Section in the FOEN’s International Affairs Division.
In 2023, he was appointed Ambassador for the Environment and Head of the International Affairs Division. Mr Wertli represents Switzerland’s international environmental policy abroad and leads Swiss delegations at international environmental negotiations.
