Our climate approach focuses on three areas where we can make the greatest impact:

Driving down emissions
Through our science-based Terra approach, we work with clients in carbon-intensive sectors to support their transition towards net-zero emissions by 2050. By engaging on transition plans, sharing sector insights and providing sustainable finance solutions, we help clients navigate the opportunities and challenges of decarbonisation. Our research and available climate publications contribute to advancing the broader sustainability dialogue.

Building a sustainable future
ING supports the technologies and infrastructure needed for a low-carbon economy and aims to mobilise €150 billion per year in sustainable finance by 2027. From renewable energy and sustainable aviation fuel to electric mobility, we help scale solutions that enable the transition. A recent example is our support for Europe’s leading EV charging network, helping expand charging infrastructure across the continent.

Including everyone in the transition
Alongside environmental initiatives such as tree planting, plogging and community recycling activities, ING Switzerland supports projects that promote accessibility and inclusion. Through our partnership with the Trust to Achieve Foundation, we made our Geneva premises available to visually impaired individuals, fostering greater independence and digital inclusion.
