Climate and disaster risks are increasingly affecting financial systems through rising losses, credit risks and asset valuation impacts. Yet investment in resilience remains insufficient, with an annual gap estimated at over USD 300 billion in developing countries. UNDRR and UNEP FI are working with financial institutions, insurers, regulators and corporates to integrate climate and disaster risks into financial decision-making to unlock new financing opportunities. This session will explore how financial actors can move from risk awareness to concrete investment in resilience, building on emerging guidance, innovative investment solutions and partnerships across the financial ecosystem.
