From Investment Gap to Investment Appraisal:  The Business Case for Action Against Modern Slavery

The session will present FAST’s estimated US$36 billion annual investment gap through 2030 and demonstrate how modern slavery, forced labour, and trafficking risks can be integrated into investment appraisal, credit analysis, risk management, disclosure, stewardship, and capital allocation. Centred on FAST’s Impact Integrated Business Case and Investment Appraisal Tool, the session will bring together investors, financial institutions, stock exchanges, standard setters, and business and human rights experts to identify financially relevant risk channels, indicators, data needs, and practical applications. Expected outcomes include user feedback on the tool, clearer links between corporate disclosure and investment decisions, and potential pilot opportunities with financial-sector and market actors.
