Engagement is one of the most useful tools for investors to reach their Net Zero objectives. Contrary to divestment, it allows not only to decarbonize their portfolio but also to contribute to the decarbonization of the real economy. The objective will be to explain and discuss engagement through concrete examples.

Dr. Dorothea Baur is an expert and advisor on ethics, responsibility and sustainability across industries such as finance or technology.

Grégoire Haenni

CIO - the Pension Fund of the State of Geneva (CPEG)

Grégoire Haenni serves as the CIO of the CPEG since 2014, overseeing substantial transformations in asset allocation and risk management. Previously, he held the position of CIO for the pension fund of CERN, where his innovative capital preservation strategy became the "CERN investment model." His extensive career includes leadership roles at institutions like Bank of China (Switzerland) Fund Management SA and the Bedrock Alternative Asset Management SA. Grégoire also notably contributed to fight against climate change as Vice Chairman of the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change (IIGCC) committee. He holds Ph.D. in mathematical statistics from the University of Geneva.

Claire Berthier

CEO, Trusteam Finance

Claire Berthier is CEO of Trusteam Finance. She was previously Equity Fund Manager and Head of Socially Responsible Investment, had worked in investment banking and co-founded a social impact start-up.

Marc Effgen, CFA, CPA

Senior Advisor, Clartan Ethos ESG Europe Small & Mid Cap fund

Marc Effgen joined Clartan Associés in 2016 as Managing Director responsible for Switzerland. He is now Senior Advisor of the Clartan Ethos ESG Europe Small & Mid Cap fund launched in September 2020. Mr. Effgen holds a Master's degree in Finance from HEC Lausanne. He is a US Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and CFA Charterholder and teaches corporate valuation in the Master program at HEC Lausanne. After initial experiences in auditing and private banking, Marc Effgen worked for more than 10 years in investment banking in London with Helvea and MainFirst before joining Clartan Associé.
