Isabelle Chappuis

Isabelle Chappuis is a Swiss economist, futures researcher and Member of the National Council, sitting on the Security Policy Committee. She works on the security of the future: understanding how AI, emerging technologies and cognitive warfare are reshaping the risks facing our democracies, institutions and businesses, and helping others prepare before the shock hits.

For over fifteen years, she researched and taught at the University of Lausanne, studying the impact of digital technology on work, social cohesion and democratic resilience. Work that left her with one conviction: anticipation is not a luxury, but what allows us to choose before being forced to react, to prepare before disruption strikes, and to hold steady when the shock arrives.

She is the author of “Notre liberté de penser” (EPFL Press) and “HR Futures 2030” (Routledge), and a contributor to Science Robotics. She advises boards and executives on foresight, AI governance and resilience, and as an independent board member, brings a hands-on understanding of governance responsibilities and decision-making under uncertainty.
