Monica Filkova, CFA, is Head of Sustainable Investing Strategy & Frameworks at Aviva’s Insurance, Wealth & Retirement (Investments). She leads the development of sustainable investing strategy and frameworks, including climate and nature integration in portfolio management and private asset origination, transition and physical risk analysis, and has been involved in the development of investor guidance and standard setting through the Net Zero Asset Owner Alliance, the Transition Plan Taskforce, PCAF and the Transition Finance Council. Monica’s previous sustainable finance roles cover Head of Market Intelligence at Climate Bonds Initiative, Director – Sustainable Finance at Fitch Ratings, technical lead on a disclosure standards and metrics for the TNFD, Chair of CFA UK Certificate in Climate and Investing and sustainable finance advisory panel member for CFA Institute. She has also held senior roles in property finance and debt capital markets including Head of Structuring, Debt Capital Markets, distressed debt credit research, CMBS restructuring, bank property debt restructuring strategy. She earned a Master of Management degree from Cornell University, USA, and a BBA from the American University in Bulgaria.
