Celebrating a Longstanding Partnership: The Geneva Graduate Institute

From the very beginning, the Geneva Graduate Institute has been part of the Building Bridges journey. Their leadership in global development and their deep academic expertise have been essential to our shared mission: to align finance with sustainable and inclusive outcomes for people and planet.
This year, we are proud to formalise this long-term collaboration by welcoming the Graduate Institute as an official Ecosystem Partner of Building Bridges 2025.
For years, the Institute’s Centre for Finance and Development (CFD), under the leadership of Professor Nathan Sussman, has helped produce the Building Bridges event report. It is an essential tool in capturing insights and tracking progress across the sustainable finance ecosystem. We look forward again this year, as the CFD team continues to support this output.
In 2025, Building Bridges also collaborates for the first time with the Hoffmann Centre for Global Sustainability at the Geneva Graduate Institute. Their inaugural conference, focused on interdisciplinary approaches to planetary sustainability, will run in complement to the Building Bridges programme. Importantly, the Centre’s grand finale on Friday 3 October, will be open to all Building Bridges participants, extending the momentum and conversation beyond our closing plenary, and highlighting the power of cross-institutional collaboration in Geneva’s unique ecosystem.
Building Bridges is also proud to be an Applied Research Projects (ARP) Partner Organisation as part of the Master in International and Development Studies (MINT) and joins the catalogue for the 2025-2026 academic year with a project to support future financing initiatives for International Geneva in collaboration with the Global Health Centre entitled “The Geneva Blueprint: Innovative and Blended Finance in Action.
Our partnership with the Graduate Institute reflects the value of combining academic rigour with financial innovation. We look forward to strengthening this collaboration and to the insights and talent it will continue to bring.
