Deputy Head for international climate policy - Federal Office for the Environment (BAFU), Swiss Confederation

Veronika Elgart is Deputy Head for international climate policy and Head of Bilateral Climate Agreements at the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment. In this role, Veronika Elgart has established Switzerland’s bilateral Article 6 Agreements, which pioneer the international transfer of mitigation outcomes at the standard of the Paris Agreement. Veronika Elgart also leads Switzerland’s international engagements in carbon capture and storage and carbon dioxide removal. Before this engagement, Veronika was Deputy Head of the Swiss delegation towards the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Veronika Elgart graduated in Geography at the University of Berne.
