Pelayo Menéndez brings nearly 20 years of expertise in sustainability, with a specialized focus on integrating sustainability factors into investment decision-making processes. Additionally, he has wide experience in impact measurement, particularly within emerging markets.

Since 2022, Pelayo has served as Head of Sustainability at Energy Infrastructure Partners. Pelayo has held several sustainability and impact-focused roles at Compañía Española de Financiación del Desarrollo (COFIDES) and British International Investment, the Spanish and British development finance institutions, respectively. He has also served as Sustainability Manager at Standard Chartered Bank in London and as Head of ESG at Matrix Renewables.

Pelayo holds a BSc in Environmental Sciences from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and a Master’s in Environmental Engineering and Management from EOI Business School. Additionally, he is a certified health and safety specialist under Spanish regulations.
