Senior Advisor - Swiss Federal State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO)
Mr. Olivier Bovet is a senior advisor at the Swiss Federal State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, SECO, where he coordinates Switzerland’s engagement in the international fight against corruption, and in particular with regard to the OECD. He is also coordinating SECO’s supervision of the good governance of natural resources in Switzerland.
Olivier Bovet holds a PhD in political sciences (economics) from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva. His first professional experience led him to the UNDP Office in Islamabad where he managed industrial development projects in Pakistan (1992-94). He then joined the Federal Government, and in particular the agency which today is the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, SECO. He managed economic development projects and spent two assignments abroad, in Belgrade (2006-2010) and Tunis (2015-18), where he was in charge of Swizerland’s economic cooperation. In 2018 he joined the Division managing International Investments and Multinational Enterprises at SECO where he focuses on the fight against corruption and the natural resources sector.
