Global Technical Lead - UNDP Insurance and Risk Finance Facility

Miguel Solana is the Global Technical Lead and Senior Advisor on Insurance and Risk Finance at UNDP, leading implementation across the Insurance and Risk Finance Facility’s 39-country footprint. Over the past 15 years, he has designed and implemented more than 50 insurance innovation initiatives, delivering insurance protection to 20 million people. Previously, Miguel led the ILO’s insurance innovation work in Africa and Latin America, and inclusive insurance market development initiatives globally. He has also worked at Deutsche Bank, Dresdner Kleinwort and Symbiotics Group. Miguel holds an MBA, a BSc in Actuarial Science and a CAS on international development. He speaks Spanish, English, French, German and Portuguese.
