Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch

State Secretary Marie-Gabrielle Ineichen-Fleisch has been the Director of SECO and of the Foreign Economic Affairs Directorate since 1 April 2011. She previously held the position of Federal Council Delegate for Trade Agreements, and was Switzerland’s chief negotiator at the World Trade Organisation (WTO). Prior to that she was head of the World Trade Division in the Foreign Economic Affairs Directorate, and before that head of section in the WTO section of the Federal Office of Foreign Economic Affairs FOFEA. In the nineties, she worked at the World Bank as assistant to Switzerland’s Executive Director and was a scientific adviser in the Legal Service and International Investment and Technology Transfer Service in the FOFEA. She has an MBA from INSEAD and a law degree as an attourney from the University of Bern.
