Lissy Smit

Global Head of W&R Sustainability & Food System Transition - Rabobank

Lissy Smit is Global Head of Sustainability for Rabobank’s International Client franchise. In her role she is responsible for the sustainability strategy for Rabobank’s global rural and wholesale business.

She started in this role on June 1, 2025. Before that she lead an EUR 500M impact investment fund (AquaSpark) based in the Netherlands with investments in sustainable aquaculture around the globe.
Prior to joining AquaSpark she built a long track record in Rabobank on the credit and food & ag lending side of which four years at Rabobank North America as Executive Director leveraged lending.

Her many roles at Rabobank included setting up the leveraged lending business for the bank in Hong Kong, leading the European lending business out of London and heading the Global lending business from Utrecht, the Netherlands. In her last role at Rabobank she headed the credit approvals department for the bank. Lissy is originally from the Netherlands and has a M.S. in economics from the University of Maastricht, where she also worked after graduating.
