Kristy Deiner

Kristy holds a PhD in Ecology with a focus on molecular techniques for biodiversity monitoring and ecosystem health. Over the past decade, she has established herself as a thought leader, inventor and former Professor at ETH Zurich in the field of eDNA, having published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers on the use of genetic tools to monitor species distribution, invasive species and habitat degradation. Her work has been instrumental in advancing molecular ecology, and she has successfully applied these techniques in real-world ecological and conservation projects.

Her experience extends beyond research to scaling SimplexDNA, an eDNA analysis company she co-founded. She has a proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with various stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs and industry leaders.
