Juan Aguirre is a Sustainable Investment Data Engineer at J. Safra Sarasin in Zurich and has been with the firm since December 2022. He streamlines end-to-end data pipelines for ESG metrics, automates portfolio and company reporting systems, ensures compliance with evolving ESG regulations, and develops AI systems to enhance sustainable-investment analysis.

Before joining the bank, Juan spent a year at UrbanDataLab AG, an ETH Zurich spin-off, as a Junior Data Scientist, where he built geospatial-analytics workflows to extract actionable insights from complex urban datasets.

Juan holds an MSc in Data Science from the UOC, Spain, and two bachelor’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Design & Product Development from the UPM, Spain. He earned the CFA Institute Certificate in ESG Investing and the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) from PMI.
