Edouard Cuendet

After graduating in Law from Bern University in 1991, Edouard Cuendet was trainee with the Law Firm
Mentha, Maystre, Morand & Partners in Geneva. He passed his bar exam in 1994 and became an associate with the law firm Borel & Barbey in the litigation department. In 1999 Edouard Cuendet joined the Groupement des Banquiers Privés Genevois as First Secretary. He was appointed Secretary General of the Groupement from January 1, 2010.
Since January 1, 2014, he is the managing Director of the Geneva Financial Center Foundation, the leading umbrella association for the Geneva financial industry. In this position, he is responsible for all legal matters and public affairs as well as education. He is a member of the Board of the Institute for Studies in Finance and Banking (ISFB) and of the Education Commission of the Swiss Bankers’ Association (SBA). He acts as the Geneva Financial Center’s representative to several political and economic associations and is the spokesman to the media.
Edouard Cuendet was also a member of the Geneva Parliament between 2004 and 2023. Among others he took part in the Finance Commission as well as in the Economy Committee.
