Daniel Steinfeld

Daniel Steinfeld is a researcher at GVZ (Gebäudeversicherung Kanton Zürich), specialising in weather and climate risk. He holds a PhD in Atmospheric and Climate Science and a DAS in Applied Statistical Data Science, both from ETH Zurich. Following postdoctoral research at the Oeschger Centre for Climate Change Research in Bern and a two-year role as a risk modeller in the Swiss insurance sector, he now investigates atmospheric dynamics and extreme weather phenomena, including atmospheric blocking and forest fire risk modelling. Outside of his scientific work, he enjoys kayaking, skiing and mountain hiking.
