Deputy Director, Nature-Related Finance - Global Canopy

Claudia is the Deputy Director for the Nature-Related Finance programme, where she leads implementation of the NRF strategy, including our work with the ENCORE partnership. She was previously the Head of Financial Sector Research at ShareAction, leading the team that ranks asset managers, insurers and European banks on their responsible finance policies and practices, as well as supporting the technical assessment within the nature and biodiversity theme. Her background is in biodiversity science, having moved into the NGO sector from academia. She led ecological research and international capacity building programmes while at the Zoological Society of London and has provided technical expertise to biodiversity research in 39 different countries. Claudia carried out her PhD at Oxford University on the biodiversity impacts and dependencies of palm oil plantations, followed by post-doctoral research modelling global biodiversity responses to land cover and protection status.
