Head of CAFI Secretariat - UNDP

Berta Pesti is the Head of the Secretariat of the Central African Forest Initiative (CAFI). She previously worked in the area of climate change at UNDP, environment and local development at the United Nations Institute for Training and Research in Geneva and the World Bank Institute and in the humanitarian field as a delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross. She is a member of the IUCN Committee on Environmental Law. She holds an MSc in Finance and Financial Law from the University of London, an LLM in Environmental Law and Land Use Planning and a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Pollutions from the University of Strasbourg in France and a JD in Law from the University Eotvos Lorand of Budapest, Hungary. She is fluent in English, French, Spanish, Russian and Hungarian.
