Prof. Adam Marszk and Prof. Ewa Lechman will present their forthcoming book (Academic Press) which covers various aspects of the European sustainable investing exchange-traded funds (ETFs), including the empirical study of their effects for the financial and socio-economic systems as well as their possible impact on the environment. Julie Segal will broaden the discussion, building off profs. Marszk and Lechman’s research with a focus on equity and justice as well as policy and regulation.

Adam Marszk

Associate professor, Gdansk University of Technology

Associate professor at Chair of Economics, Gdansk University of Technology. His research focuses on financial innovations, financial markets and sustainable investing. CFA charterholder and member of CFA Society Poland.

Ewa Lechman

Associate Professor, Gdańsk University of Technology, Fahrenheit Universities

Ewa Lechman is an economist, associate profesor at Gdańsk University of Technology. She concentrates on digital technologies, economic development and growth, FinTech; completed international research project and publications.

Julie Segal

Senior Manager, Climate Finance, Environmental Defence Canada

Senior Manager at Environmental Defence, Julie Segal advances climate-related financial policy. She previously managed a portfolio of impact investments, and is recognized for integrating environmental justice into sustainable finance.

Paul Dembinski

Professor, University of Fribourg

Initiator and Director of the Observatoire de la Finance (1996) in Geneva. The mission of the Observatoire de la Finance is to promote awareness of ethical concerns in financial activities and professions. He co-chairs the Jury of the Global award “Ethics & Trust in Finance for a Sustainable Future”.

Virgile Peret

Moderator - Project Lead, Ethics & Sustainability in Finance, Observatoire de la Finance

Virgile Perret collaborates with the Observatoire de la Finance, a think-tank based in Geneva, where he's responsible for managing the global Prize “Ethics & Trust in Finance for a Sustainable Future”. He develops research on monetary innovation, financial digitization and sustainable finance.
