Agriculture/Food systems are major sources of emissions but can also contribute to climate mitigation and adaptation. Consequently, many farmers and companies are transitioning practices and supply chains. However, the transition costs and economic model are yet to be proven at scale. We will discuss the current bottlenecks and solutions.

TNC Europe has offices in Berlin, Brussels, and London and engages with business leaders, governments, philanthropists and global change agents to support and accelerate public and private funding, public policy and large scale and lasting global conservation impact.

Axelle Bodoy graduated as an agronomy engineer, followed by an international Master in Rural Development. She started her career focusing on sustainable agricultural development and carbon mitigation projects in several areas of the world (Madagascar, Indonesia...).

Matthew Watkins

Senior Sustainability Analyst - Lombard Odier

Matthew Watkins brings 12 years’ experience on business and sustainability to the sustainability research team at Lombard Odier- with a particular focus on the transition to healthy and sustainable food systems. Dr. Watkins holds a joint Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree and a Master of Science (MSc) in the Environmental Sciences degree from the University of East Anglia. He joined Lombard Odier following a career in sustainability consultancy covering a breadth of environmental and social issues. This includes seven years bringing together multi-national business to solve common sustainability challenges at the World Business Council (WBCSD) for Sustainable Development, where he was Senior Manager of Food Reform for Sustainability and Health. At Lombard Odier Dr. Watkins focuses on the development of roadmaps for food systems, summarizing the key transitions to a more sustainable food system, and the consequent business and investment risks and opportunities.
