Zemira Humphrey
WBCSD Associate and One Young World Ambassador
Zemira Humphrey is a 23-year-old sustainability professional, working as an Associate at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). Since joining WBCSD in September 2022, her role has focused on scaling strategic partnerships – with philanthropies, governments, civil society, and academia – to advance collective business action on climate, nature, and equity.
Prior to joining WBCSD, Zemira’s sustainability experiences and internships focused largely on climate adaptation and resilience. This included analysis that was presented at both the Malawi National Green Climate Conference and UNFCCC COP26, and Green Climate Fund proposals for water-security adaptation projects with the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre (CCCCC). She has completed fieldwork related to environmental conservation and cultural heritage protection in both Ecuador and Mexico as a research assistant with Operation Wallacea.
Zemira is also a One Young World Ambassador, and represented WBCSD as a Young Leader at the Belfast Summit in October 2023.
Zemira graduated from the University of Oxford in 2022, with a BA (Hons) in Geography. She was born and raised in the UK to Anglo-Italian parents, and is based in London.
