Prof. Philippe Thalmann

Philippe Thalmann, born in Lausanne in 1963, is a Swiss economist and Associate Professor at EPFL since 1994. He teaches real estate and housing economics to architecture students, and climate change economics to engineering and science students. As director of the Master of Advanced Studies in Real Estate Economics, Law, and Technology, his research focuses on environmental and urban economics, including policy instruments for emission reduction and housing market dynamics. Thalmann has held significant roles, such as president of the Federal Housing Commission and member of the Advisory Body on Climate Change (OcCC).
