Martin Weymann

Head Group Sustainability - Swiss Re, Switzerland

Martin Weymann leads Group Sustainability at Swiss Re. The team integrates environmental, social and governance aspects across the firm and shapes strategic sustainability initiatives. It also engages with a wide range of Swiss Re’s stakeholders. Before he was the Head Sustainability, Emerging & Political Risk Management since 2017. Martin is a member of the FSB Task Force on Climate-related Disclosures (TCFD) and a Senior Advisor for the WEF Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders.

From 2015 – 2017 he was a Senior Risk Officer for Latin America based in Sao Paulo with responsibility to build-up and enhance risk management across the continent. Prior, he was a secondee at the Institute of International Finance in Washington DC to build up the Institute’s insurance industry initiatives on regulation, risk management and long-term investments. Previously, he worked in Risk Management, Underwriting, Asset Management and Sustainability at Swiss Re.

Martin holds a MSc in environmental sciences (with specialization in climate and water physics) from ETH Zurich with further education in scenario analysis from Oxford and risk communication from Harvard.
