As regulators clamp down on greenwashing, companies and the finance industry are grappling with how to disclose their ESG work in a way that does not overinflate impact. Many feel that more data is the answer, but it is it the whole story? This panel will explore this challenge and discuss real solutions.

Matthew Vincent

Editor, FT Project Publishing, Financial Times

Matthew Vincent is the editor of FT Project Publishing. He was previously regulation correspondent, Lombard columnist, deputy companies editor, UK companies editor, and editor of the FT Money section. His investment articles regularly appear in FT Wealth magazine. Mr Vincent was named National Journalist of the Year by the Investment Management Association in 2011, a year after winning the Best Newspaper Journalist award from the Association of Investment Companies. He began his career with the FT Group on Investors Chronicle, which he edited for five years.

Christophe P. Braun

Equity Investment Director, Capital Group

Christophe P. Braun is an investment director at Capital Group with responsibility for covering equities. He has 12 years of investment industry experience and has been with Capital Group for six years. Prior to joining Capital, he worked at CBP Quilvest S.A. as a portfolio manager and investment advisor. Before that, he was an investment representative at TD Direct Investing International. He holds a master's degree in financial and industrial economics from Royal Holloway University of London and a diploma of science in business management and economics from University Leopold Franzens in Austria. Mr. Braun is based in Luxembourg.

Philipp Aeby

CEO, RepRisk

Dr. Philipp Aeby is the CEO and co-founder of RepRisk. He is an expert in business conduct risk management, with a special interest in machine learning. 

Before joining RepRisk in 2006, Philipp served in various managerial positions across Europe at Amgen, a global biopharmaceutical firm, and worked on a broad range of international assignments with the Boston Consulting Group. He started his career as a visiting scientist at the International Center for Tropical Agriculture in Colombia.

Patrick Schmucki

Director, Co-Lead FS Climate & Sustainability - KPMG AG

Patrick Schmucki consults financial institutions such as banks, asset managers or insurance companies in the area of sustainability with a focus on regulatory transformation and reporting. He is also the Corporate Responsibility Officer of KPMG in Switzerland and drives the firm’s sustainability strategy.

Karen Wilson moderator,

Chair of the Supervisory Board - Impact-Linked Finance Fund

Karen is an expert on sustainable finance, ESG, impact investment and impact measurement, bridging the private, public and academic sectors. In addition to leading work at the OECD, she co-led the launch of the Impact Management Platform, which aims to provide coherence on sustainability standards for companies and investors. She is Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Impact Linked Finance Fund and serves on the Pictet Group Impact and Sustainability Advisory Board in addition to other boards. In 2022, she was selected by the Sorenson Impact Center as a Global Impact Leader.
