Sietse Wouters

Program Director - UBS Optimus Foundation

Sietse Wouters is the Program Director at the UBS Optimus Foundation. With extensive experience in outcomes-based financing approaches, Sietse has been instrumental in designing, structuring, and contracting various impactful projects, including the Quality Education India and Utkrisht Maternal and Newborn Health Development Impact Bonds. He has also helped to design and launch the Luxembourg based investment fund, the SDG Outcomes Fund SCSp, SICAV-RAIF. In addition, he works on investment origination and management of UBS Optimus Foundation’s direct investments in social enterprises and programs.

Before joining the foundation, Sietse worked at UBS Group, where he helped to establish the bank as a leader in sustainable banking and in strategy development at UBS Asset Management. He also worked in M&A and strategy for ABN AMRO Bank in Singapore and the Netherlands and at Arthur D. Little as a strategy consultant. Sietse holds a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management Science specializing in Process Technology from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. He grew up in the Netherlands, Botswana, and Kenya.
