About the Venue

Building Bridges 2026 will take place at the Centre International de Conférences Genève (CICG), located at 17 rue de Varembé, CH-1202 Geneva, a short walk from the Palais des Nations, the European headquarters of the United Nations.

The CICG is owned and managed by FIPOI (Fondation des Immeubles pour les Organisations Internationales) and has hosted international conferences and multilateral dialogue for decades. Building Bridges has been proud to call the CICG home since 2022.

For the duration of Building Bridges, the conference exclusively occupies the entire venue. Access is reserved for registered participants, speakers, partners and accredited media. Once you have collected your conference badge, you can access the full official programme across the venue, with no additional registration required for each session.

Getting to the Venue

In line with Building Bridges’ Sustainability Commitments, we encourage all participants to choose low-carbon travel options whenever possible. The CICG is centrally located in International Geneva and is easily accessible by public transport, walking and cycling. Individual travel arrangements remain the responsibility of each conference guest.

Public Transportation

Le CICG étant situé en plein cœur de Genève internationale, il est facilement accessible par les transports publics genevois, en tramway et en bus :

  • Prenez le tram 15 et descendez à l'arrêt «Sismondi». Le lieu se trouve à 3 minutes à pied de l'arrêt de tram.
  • Prenez le bus 5 et descendez à l'arrêt «Vermont». Le lieu de l'événement se trouve à 4 minutes à pied de l'arrêt.
  • Prenez le bus 8 ou le bus 11 et descendez à l'arrêt « IUT ». Le lieu se trouve à 5 minutes à pied de l'arrêt.
  • Prenez le CFF ou CEVA et descendez à « Genève Sécheron». Le lieu se trouve à 7 minutes à pied de l'arrêt.

Public transport tickets in Geneva can be purchased at ticket machines located at most stops, via the TPG (Transports Publics Genevois) mobile app, or by SMS (text “TPG1” to 788). All standard tickets are valid for 60 minutes and can be used across trams, buses, and boats within the TPG network.

Anyone staying in approved accommodation in Geneva is entitled to a Free Geneva Transport Cardwhich provides complimentary access to the city’s public transport network for the duration of their stay.

Driving

If you are driving, the closest parking available is at Parking des Nations.

From Geneva Airport

Geneva Airport is well connected to the venue by public transport.

Take Bus 5 from the airport and get off at “Vermont”. The CICG is a 4-minute walk from the stop.

Visa Requirements

Please check with your closest embassy or consulate of Switzerland for your visa requirements. You may use the Swiss State Secretariat for Migration website to see if a visa is required for your visit to Switzerland but exact details should be checked with the embassy.

Building Bridges cannot provide visas but can provide invitation letters to its members and invited guests.

After registering, you can request an invitation letter by contacting our Registration Team at registration@buildingbridges.org. In addition, please check that your passport does not expire within 3 months after the ending date of Building Bridges.

Languages

English is the official language of Building Bridges and will be used throughout the conference programme.

  • Sessions and conference materials will be delivered in English.
  • Translation services will not be available.
  • While Geneva’s official language is French, English is widely spoken and visitors can generally navigate the city comfortably using English.
