Social and Human Rights Lead - UNEP FI

Joana Pedro leads the social and human rights team at the United Nation Environmental Program Finance Initiative (UNEP FI). She mainly works on the interlinkages between human rights, social, environment, and finance, with a focus on financing a Just Transition.
With 20 years’ experience, Joana started her career in Southern Africa, where for almost a decade she conducted Environmental and Social Impacts Assessments. Prior to UNEP FI, Joana worked at the European Investment Bank (EIB) conducting social due diligence in infrastructure project worldwide and developing policy work, namely working in EIB’s Environmental and Social safeguards and internal E&S procedures.
