CEO & co-founder - Synature

Olivier Stähli is CEO and co-founder of Synature SA, an EPFL spin-off that listens to nature. Its solar-powered smart microphones record continuously in forests and landscapes, and AI identifies which species are present. Conservationists, landowners and companies get a live picture of the wildlife on their land without sending people into the field. Synature has deployments on four continents.

A computer scientist by training, Olivier earned his Bachelor’s in Computer Science from the University of Bern in 2021 and a Master’s in Management of Technology from EPFL in 2023. Alongside his studies he worked in startups, accelerators and corporates, always at the intersection of tech and business. In 2023 he received the IUCN Changemaker Award.
